Please help my 27 year old daughter achieve more independence
My daughter Abbie suffers with various invisible disabilities, some of which profoundly affect her mobility due to intense fatigue, muscle wastage and chronic joint pain.
She is a founder of a charity which supports children and young people with invisible disabilities and chronic illness to raise awareness and funds, to improve the quality of lives for those currently affected and for future generations of young people.
She is now 27 years of age and strives for more independence. During the course of her work for the charity, she travels across country to various events and currently her carer has to constantly be with her to help her get around in her manual wheelchair. It would be amazing for my daughter to be able to attend meetings, conferences and gigs without the need for constant physical support and by having a collapsible electric wheelchair, it would mean that she could easily attend these functions and being able to circulate, socalise and network more independently like most other young women of her age.
Unfortunately due to Abbie's disability I had to give up my teaching career to become her full time carer. Her father who is retired is 74 years of age and can no longer work. This is why we are reaching out to the kind hearted members of public to donate to this project. Thank you for taking time to read her story
