I've raised £1000 to travel to Rwanda with the charity Cricket without Boundaries to educate children on HIV/AIDs treatment and preventions.

I will be travelling to Rwanda in 2019 with Leeds Trinity University to help support the charity, Cricket without Boundaries. I will be portraying health messages such as, HIV prevention, to children, through cricket within their school environment. Many are still recovering from the 1994 genocide and its aftermath; Cricket in Rwanda has played a significant role in the healing and reconciliation process following the genocide, with 10,000 players since 1994.
I will be doing a couple of things to help raise funds so that I am able to travel over to Rwanda, as well as donations to the charity itself. I will be completing the Harewood House 10K, aswell as many different sponsored activities. I am very grateful for anyone that can make any donation of any kind.
“Cricket Without Boundaries (CWB) is a UK registered charity (number 1154576) that uses cricket as a vehicle for delivering health and social messages in sub-Saharan Africa. It is run almost entirely by the dedication and enthusiasm of its volunteers.
Projects generally focus on 3 key messages:
· Prevention, often reflecting messages students are exposed to in school and including the UNAIDS/PEPFAR recognised three-pronged “ABC” message of: Abstain; Be faithful; Condom use
· Testing and treatment, reinforcing the importance of knowing our HIV status, testing regularly, and following treatment regimens correctly if you are HIV positive.
· Reducing stigma associated with HIV positive status and combating gender inequalities by having boys and girls of all statuses training, learning and playing together”
