Story

I am a 20 year old wheelchair user with a neurological condition called FND. I have had my condition for just over 3 years and it means my brain doesn’t send the correct signals to my legs to be able to move them and walk properly. i went from a normal teenager, who loved watersports, going to watch gloucester rugby games and working full time as a carer to being in hospital and wheelchair bound for a long time. I have however, been doing intense neurologcal physiotherapy to get me walking again and i am making huge progress!

My mental health took a huge hit since being in my wheelchair and I found myself very unwell mentally, meaning i spent a lot of time in psychiatric hospitals and experiencing suicidal thoughts. I nearly lost my battle on several occasions but due to incredible support and advice from a charity called SHOUT when i was in crisis, i am still here fighting and have made some huge progress in my mental health recovery. They saved my life and i will forever be grateful to them for helping me find the light at the end of the tunnel and cherish every day!

I grew up supporting gloucester rugby with my family and we went to most games. my whole family have supported rugby since i was born and iv’e grown up in a rugby loving family. Unfortunately Ed Slater who has been a phenomenal player for Gloucester and England has just been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and has had to take an early retirement hugely impacting him and his family with the devastating news

All i have wanted since being in my wheelchair and battling mental illness is to let other people know theyre not alone and to help as many people as i can

Thats why on August 12th i will be braving a 10,000 ft tandem skydive to try and raise money for both charities. I will be facing my fear of heights and going completely out of my comfort zone to fundraise for 2 charities close to my heart. It will be difficult due to my physical needs but im willing to accept the challenge and i know nothing is impossible!!

i ask people to please donate to this page for such an amazing cause so even if you can only donate a few pounds i will be more than grateful!!
