Story

In july 2020 myself and some other students at Witchford Village College will be travelling to Greece to volunteer at a sea turtle conservation project. We will be taking part in beach clean up, nest protection, researching the nests and eggs, making sure the hatchlings have safe passage to the sea and working with sick and injured turtles with an aim to releasing them back into the wild. As this is a school expedition, fundraising is a big part of it and i know some people cant make it to my fundraising days so heres another option 🙂 not only will we (the 12-14 year olds) be fundraising but we are also leading the trip so our time to start leading is NOW. We have to ensure we have enough food while we wild camp in a country that seems to have the toughest language to learn, thank you to my fellow backpacker Natalie for the phrase book to get me started. We are in charge of the daily budget, cooking for the group, cleaning our camp and orgainising transport if we need it. The adults are there for safety reasons. For the next 18 months i will be trying to fundraise the total cost of the trip and any extra that is made will be donated directly to a sea turtle conservation project. I am doing some xmas stalls selling homemade crafts such as hair scrunchies, decorated clips and gift bags and doing a few competitions such as name thw turtle and find the turtle along with orgainising bigger events such as discos and bag packing in local supermarkets. If you would like to donate thank you, if you would like to take part in the name a turtle (and win a sea turtle adoption sent to your home address with uodates through the year) then this is a great and easy way to pay. Thank you so much for takingbthe time to read this, and thanks for your support x
