I've raised £1200 to Help Richard Denu's surgery to correct his Mild Hydrocephalus and Arnold Chiari Malformation.

Meet 11-year-old Richard who needs urgent help for an emergency procedure in Ghana. REACT Humanitarian Network met Richie in 2017 and has since donated a number of items including a wheel chair to facilitate his mobility and education. However, just last month we received unexpected news from his mother that Richard has Mild Hydrocephalus and Arnold Chiari Malformation which means he has suffered a build-up of fluid in the cavities (ventricles) deep within the brain in excess. The excess fluid has increased the size of his ventricles which the puts pressure on his brain. Doctors have said the pressure of too much cerebrospinal fluid associated with hydrocephalus can damage Richard's brain tissues and cause a range of impairments in brain function, therefore Richard requires a blood augmentation procedure to address his situation.
Richard has been on the waiting list for years due to lack of funds and his situation is worsening by the day. He struggles to naturally ease himself as a result and often times defecates and urinates on himself. Upon further assessment, doctors have agreed to conduct the operation for Richard at a discounted cost of 6000 Ghana Cedis (£1200). Despite the huge discount, Richard's mum, Safia is still struggling to raise the money hence her appeal to REACT. REACT is there assist but due to limited resources we are unable to relief the burden on both mother and son and require your kind support. We will be grateful if you can donate to help get Richard the medical intervention he requires in order for him to realise his dream of becoming a banker in future.
Please remember no amount is too small as you help save a life with your prayers and donations. Thank you
