£2,790raised of £2,790 target by 22 supporters

Weʼve raised £2,790 to help pay for urgent life saving medical treatment for Abhey Singh Pradhan.

Funded on Tuesday, 30th October 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Abhey is very sick in hospital in Amritsar, India with a liver infection and complications. The doctors are trying to stabilise him and he may need a liver transplant. We are urgently trying to raise as much money as we can to pay for life saving medical treatment and to support his family.

Abhey has worked with many international volunteers in India at IDEX and ACE and was always there to help as a guide, translator and friend - especially mentoring those who were volunteering in India for the first time, myself included. His aim has always been to improve the lives of the children that the projects supported and to look after all volunteers from around the world. We are hoping to reach out to those who knew him and anyone else who would like to help.

It is a large target, but every penny will count! Any support you can give will be much appreciated by Abhey and his family. We are monitoring Abhey's progress and will keep you updated.

If you wish to donate from India, please get in touch with me on Facebook or at the link at the bottom of this post and we can arrange for you to send the money directly to Abhey's family.

The heartbreaking news is that Abhey passed away last night at Tanda Hospital at 11:30 Indian time. He had been discharged to home from Chandigarh Hospital to build his strength for the liver transplant, but sadly he was too weak. He was happy to be at home surrounded by his loved ones. I was blessed to know such an amazing man. Our thoughts and prayers are with Abhey’s family 🙏❤️

Abhey is still in Chandigarh Hospital and struggling to keep well enough for a transplant. He has been there for a few weeks, test after test after test, - no TV or anything. He is in pain and so bored and has lost his positivity - he doesn’t even want food and is being fed by a tube into his stomach - please send him messages to keep him positive and ‘bounce back’ whilst he is waiting for a donor! His test results show he is not well enough for a transplant right now, let’s get him fighting again. Send messages and happy photos please!! X

Abhey is now in Chandigarh hospital having a range of tests and treatment in preparation for a possible liver transplant soon. Although the donor match has not yet been found, we are all keeping positive. Thank you all for your continued support x
