I've raised £300 to buy medical resources for a hospital in Tanzania!

Hello! So as many of you know I'm a student nurse and I finish the degree in July (yey!). In August I have arranged to be a medical volunteer in a hospital in Tengeru (Tanzania) for just over 3 weeks. I'll be placed on the Paediatric ward, Midwifery and Labour ward, Newborn care and in minor and major surgery. As you can expect, resources are very limited and with recent cuts to Tanzanian governmental hospitals by 50%, there are even fewer resources that most of us would consider to be basic. My aim is to raise £300 to go towards medical resources/equipment and a very, very small amount of this will contribute towards my vaccinations. I have fully funded the trip myself so you are not paying for a holiday!
To give an idea of how much things will cost, here is a list of the estimated prices in Tanzania:
Stethoscope £5, Thermometer £5, Box of gloves £2.50, Wound sutures (box of 250) £7, Bottle of hand sanitizer (500ml) £2, Portable pulse oximeter monitor £12, Blood glucose monitor £11, Box of surgical masks (x100) £5, Box of syringes (x100) £4.
I also hope to buy a mixture of vaccinations while I'm out there, although I can't find prices for those at the moment! Such as Yellow Fever, Rabies, Cholera, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Typhoid.
So, dig deep and donate what you can!! I plan on buying these items while I'm out there to get the things which are in demand and this will also put money into the local economy :) Any donations will be greatly appreciated!!
