Hi Everyone,

From a tender age my passion and drive to work with children has profoundly increased, since childhood I have always been that child to volunteer in the creche at church and with age moved onto volunteering and doing placements at either a primary school or nursery. After watching Heidi Bakers "Compelled by Love" documentary, I was moved to tears by the daily sufferings and struggles of defenceless, Innocent and underprivileged children. Physically, mentally and emotionally minors are unable to protect themselves against the harsh realities of extreme poverty, abandonment and diseases such as HIV and Aids. This unfortunate start to life for many children globally is heart breaking and I want to help. The idea of humanitarian work and volunteering abroad has always seemed so daunting and unattainable to me for several reasons, however this year I decided I would make it happen after seeing someone of a similar age do the program and leave a lasting impact.

I will be volunteering at an orphanage and children's homes in a village in Ghana with International Volunteers HQ for 2 weeks in July. This program involves early mornings, late evenings providing education, care, entertainment and attention to children. However, for the most part expressing the love and affection these children so deeply desire and lack.

Alongside crowdfunding I will be carrying out a series of fund raising activities such as door to door fundraising, bake sales and a sponsored fast so keep a look out for this on my social media.

My desired goal is to reach £1500 by the end of June.

The money raised will mainly cover the cost of the flights and transportation around Ghana. Then go on towards contributing to the program fee, Visa, travel insurance, DBS, toys, stationary and books for the children.

Shamelessly I kindly ask for your generosity in supporting me with donations, no matter how big or small the contribution is, a little goes a long way.
