Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Hi, my name is Abi Breeden and I am currently a student at Wyke Sixth Form College in Cottingham, Hull. In July 2017, myself and 16 other Wyke Students will travel to South Africa to undertake volunteer work in Olievenhoutbosch with the charity Botshabelo. Within my two week trip I will be taking part in many different aspects of the Township itself. I will be helping to build a school in order for children to receive the education they need to succeed and I will also be assisting in the crèche and orphanage doing domestic and childcare work; this will include a day trip to a zoo with the children.
Part of my fundraising includes a 35 mile hike from Spurn Point to my college. I will also be taking part in bag packs, car-boot sales, bake stalls and many more activities to try and raise as much of the funds as possible. This money not only helps to fund my trip to carry out the work planned but a large proportion of this £2,000 will go to the charity itself as this will be spent on building materials, school supplies and training programmes.
Any donations, big or small are gratefully appreciated.
Thanks, Abi x
