Story
Hello! In Jan 2018, I will be relocating to Mozambique for one year. I'll be working voluntarily with iReachAfrica, a Christian organisation dedicated to public health initiatives, education programmes, agricultural development and social advancement. The quality of education is something I'm passionate about. I'll be training local teachers so they may teach local children. I am excited by this opportunity to see growth and change in children, young people and adults, and look forward to investing into and developing the community in an underprivileged region. Using my teaching skills, I will be developing education programmes, equipping teachers with ideas and strategies and building community through outreach. It is my vision to see children grow, change and flourish in a community which cares for them; to see children gain confidence and believe in themselves; to see children understand that they are valued, loved and cared for; to see children aspire, hope and dream and to see children come to know God.I believe that education is a vital tool which supports the child to reach their full potential as well as aiding them to understand the world and people around them. I want to learn how to best utilise my teaching skills to contribute to children developing, growing and changing in a community which supports, loves and encourages.I am passionate about teaching primary children as this is when their characteristics can be positively influenced and they are beginning to show independence in their own ability and thinking. I want to teach others about the importance of children’s education and equip others with a range of strategies to support children’s learning and development. As a Christian, I believe that I am called to show love, grace, compassion and mercy to others and to teach about the good news of the gospel.
Funds raised will go towards my 'start up' costs to get me out there: flights, visa, insurance.
