Story

Over the next 12 weeks i will be running 303 miles to help raise as much money as possible for the ABODE Project.

Now in its 5th year, The ABODE Project volunteers return to Kabale, Uganda in February 2022 for the next phase of the project. This time the volunteers will be building two new classrooms at The ABODE Junior School and making repairs to the school after damage from a heavy rainy season.

School is a lifeline for the community of Kabale. The children of The ABODE Junior School rely on us, and our school, to provide them with an education. It gives them the opportunity to pursue their dreams and become doctors, teachers, photographers, musicians, footballers or whatever they choose. An education at The ABODE Junior School provides a pathway to escape extreme poverty, an opportunity for its students to reach their full potential and a chance to make their dreams a reality.

Project leaders Kai and Emily will also lay the foundation for the next building project - a centre for children with complex needs in Uganda. Children that have conditions such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Downs Syndrome will be able to visit the centre and get the support, care and education they deserve. This project will be funded by The Tribe Ibiza.

This time, we will be taking 40 volunteers of different ages and with different skills and look forward to sharing our progress, live, as always, throughout the trip. Each volunteer is hoping to raise £1000 which will go towards the redevelopment of the school and its emergency fund.
