Story
In memory of Akeel, Hannaa and Sara who tragically lost their lives in the Air India plane crash.
Alongside all the Zanzi friends, we are coming together to climb Mount Snowdon.
Each of us are individually raising funds, with the goal of putting everything into the main pot.
The aim is to help build a masjid in a small village located in Lombok, Indonesia, as a Sadaqah Jaariyah project.
Every prayer made in that masjid, every child who learns Qur'an there, every act of worship can be a source of ongoing reward for them and for everyone who contributes.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: Sadaqah Jaariyah, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them." — Sahih Muslim
For my part, I will be doing the climb with my daughter Aara.
She is 4 years old, so just to be clear. If I feel at any point it is too much for her. We may need to stop early or take the train.
There are no refunds if that happens. But inshallah, we will try our best.
This is not about whether we actually reach the summit, but about the intention behind it.
If you are able to donate anything at all, please do. If not, please share the link or make dua.
May Allah accept all of our efforts and re-unite us with our friend in Jannat-ul-Firdaus.
JazakAllah Khair
*UPDATE 5th September*
Aara will not be joining me for the climb as she has blisters on her feet. Instead, she will be staying with her mother over the weekend. On a plus note, I have managed to use this weekend that I lost. Using it for the February half term and have come to an arrangement to take her Umrah as it will give me 10 days insha'Allah.
We have reached our initial £12,000 target and we will commence initial plans this week. I have surpassed my original target of £500. I have updated target to raise as much as I can.
