I've raised £750 to help support a family of 9 in Gaza, Palestine

As-salamu alaykum all,
I have initiated this fundraising campaign for my friend, Asad AbuHaweela and his family who urgently need our help. The AbuHaweela family from Gaza, Palestine, (consisting of 9 family members) parents, Salah (63 years) and Ghada (53 years), 2 sisters, Maysaa and Ayd, and 4 brothers Iyad, Amjad, Hatem, and Ayman had their home destroyed by intense bombings. Having to deal with the fact that their home, once a place of warmth and security has just been destroyed and now facing displacement, the family had no time to take any of this in and had to immediately travel to Khan Younis (as pictured) with just their clothes on their backs and a white flag in hand. They were informed Khan Younis was a safe zone and as we have all come to find out it was not. Like many other families in this situation, the family were forced to move from one place to another and are now currently residing in Rafah.
Rafah, initially home to a population of 200,000, is now inundated with over a million refugees. Due to the ongoing blockade, prices for basic goods have skyrocketed, with items such as 1kg of sugar costing an astounding £22.
Life in Rafah has put the family in survival mode. The family are currently living in a makeshift tent exposing them to the harsh environment and bombs going off all around them. Just recently, all the family members fell ill due to the cold weather. The rainwater unfortunately seeped into their tent which resulted in their blankets becoming completely soaked. The lack of privacy and access to basic necessities has taken a toll on the family’s well-being. They are drained - emotionally, mentally and physically. Although they have lost everything they had ever known, they have not lost their hope in us.
The intention of this fundraiser is to help raise funds to directly secure the family with basic necessities such as food, warm clothing, blankets and essential medical care. As we enter Ramadan, the AbuHaweela family will all be observing all of their fasts despite the scarcity of food. Your support would be truly remarkable in helping them open and break their fasts with nutritious and fulfilling meals.
The Prophet ﷺ said "Whoever provides the food for a fasting person to break his fast with, then for him is the same reward as his (the fasting person's), without anything being diminished from the reward of the fasting person." [Tirmidhi]
Any support for this fundraiser is truly appreciated, if you cannot donate, please do consider sharing the link and their story. May Allah سبحانه وتعالى accept this from us and reward us all.
The Prophet ﷺ said "(O people!) Save yourselves from the Fire even if it is with half a date, and if you cannot find that, then (save yourselves by saying) a good word." [Muslim]
This is a 100% Zakat/Sadaqah donation policy. I will be personally covering the Just Giving fees and transaction fees in full.
Please do get in touch if you have any questions.
Peace and blessings,
Isma
