Story

Our latest arrival, Maddy, has had an accident and dislocated her hip. Unfortunately due to severe ligament and tendon damage, the hip won’t stay in place which means her leg just hangs around doing nothing and her hip is VERY swollen and painful.

We’d like to give Maddy a chance and save her leg by having a toggle stabilisation operation on her hip. There are a few slightly different methods but in essence it is where the orthopaedic vet drills 2 holes in the hip ball and cup and threads a wire through. Using toggles at each end of the wire, the wire is tightened and held in place. This in turn keeps the hip in place. The hip remains functional so Maddy should have as near to a normal life as is possible. Success is 4:5 or 80% and will depend heavily on Maddy staying immobile for 4-6 weeks while the healing takes place.

This all comes at a cost which is why we need your help to raise an extra £2800 for Maddy.

Accolade Hounds has some very dedicated volunteers who are busy sewing, knitting, jewellery making and generally thinking of ways to raise extra money to help Maddy but it’s not easy in the current climate which is why weve set up this fundraising page..

If you would like to help amazing 5 year old Maddy please donate generously to give this beautiful natured girl a chance to enjoy the rest of her life as fully as possible.. Maddy really is a sweet girl and deserves all the help she can get.

Thank You
