Story

After being diagnosed with bone cancer at the age of 7 and having her arm amputated as a result, Charlotte underwent a number of surgeries throughout childhood and early adulthood to reduce the adverse effects of the amputation.

Whether it is working a Ski season in Canada, visiting beautiful places or taking part in Murder Mystery evenings, Charlotte has always lived life to the full and made the most of any opportunities. Inspirational' is the word people most often pick out when they choose to describe Charlotte

In November 2017, Charlotte became ill with an infection which made her desperately unwell. She was suffering from HLH, a rare complication of the Epstein-Barr virus. She was treated at The Christie Hospital and slowly began to recover. Unfortunately, her recovery was hampered by acute steroid myopathy which affected muscle function, however, Charlotte slowly began to regain strength.

In July 2018, Charlotte was diagnosed with an aggressive form of T-cell Lymphoma which has also caused a number of masses in and around her pancreas. Charlotte started Chemotherapy soon after diagnosis and will continue to have treatment over the coming months.

Throughout everything, Charlotte has kept her characteristic bubbly, fun and positive outlook and continues to bear treatment bravely. She is the most fantastic daughter, sister, fiancee and friend and brings laughter and happiness to everyone lucky enough to meet her.

I have known Charlotte for a number of years through our work supporting teenagers and wanted to do something useful to help Charlotte and address the hidden harm from cancer and long term illness - financial impact from loss of earnings and long hospital stays. I have signed up to do the Great North Run And Yorkshrie Marathon and want to use these to raise as much money as I can to help Charlotte create wonderful memories or achieving her dreams. Please can you help us by donating anything you can and help to cheer Charlotte on as she fights this battle!
