Story

We are looking to raise funds to buy a defibulator, its external case and have it fitted at Shore Caravan Site, Achmelvich Bay.

I have been coming to Achmelvich Bay for many years. It is our families favourite holiday and we have made many friends over the years at Shore Caravan site. Each year I run a alcohol raffle and donate the prize money to various charities. I normally host a jewellery party where by we draw the raffle at this to find the lucky winner. This year we decided to raise funds to install a defibrillator at Shore Caravan Site.

A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest. This high energy shock is called defibrillation, and it's an essential part in trying to save the life of someone who's in cardiac arrest. When you use a defibrillator in addition to quality CPR, the odds of someone's survival can jump from around 6% to 74% – an incredible difference.

We hope that this piece of equipment is never put to use however if it is required then it significantly increases the persons chance of survival.

Thank you to Sarah and Margaret for allowing the installation of the device at their caravan site.

Any amount that you can donate will be appreciated and help towards us achieving our target.

Thanks again

Isabel
