THE CAUSE: The White Helmets
Working in non-government controlled areas in Syria, the White Helmets are a team of ~3,000 volunteers who are working to save lives and strengthen communities.
Neutral and unarmed, the White Helmets are most well known for their search and rescue operations - rushing into areas that have just been bombed to look for survivors. Their work also includes warning and evacuating civilians, firefighting, managing emergency shelters, and more.
Please visit www.whitehelmets.org for more info.
-The White Helmets (aka Syria Civil Defense) have been nominated for Nobel Peace Prize 2016
-Estimates for the death toll from the Syrian Civil War vary between 300,000-500,000.
-The White Helmets have saved more than 60,000 lives so far.
THE CHALLENGE: Mount Aconcagua
The highest mountain outside of Asia and the second highest of the Seven Summits at 6,961m (22,838ft), we're confident that attempting to summit Mount Aconcagua in Argentina will be the hardest physical challenge we've ever taken on. For us, this is why it's so important to support a great cause at the same time, and we truly appreciate each and every donation, which will go straight to the White Helmets.
Our expedition will run from 27 November - 17 December, and we'll do our best to keep you updated before and during the climb with updates and images from our training to our summit attempt!
