Story
ACORN Initiative launches ‘Holiday Without Hunger’ Campaign to help feed 5000 displaced families in need this Christmas.
Can you remember the last time you didn’t eat for more than 24 hours? When was the last time you had no hope of where your next meal would come from?
When you sit down in the warmth of your homes, amongst happy family and friends, ready to tuck into your festive food, it’s easy to forget the thousands of people who aren’t as lucky.
ACORN Initiative believes no one should go hungry— ever. Especially during Christmas.
But when hunger is a daily challenge faced by women, men and their children in IDP camps, it’s hard to imagine how it must feel like for them to suffer and starve on the day they should be filled with joy, delicious hot food and water. Instead, they’re uncomfortable and will likely go to sleep hungry.
ACORN Initiative encourages you, the more fortunate, to help give these displaced people a feeling of belonging this Christmas.
By donating $3 dollars (N1000) per person, you would enable ACORN Initiative to put together meals that include freshly prepared food, clean water and other essential nutrients to help feed 5000 displaced families in Benue State’s IDP camps this Christmas.
With this little commitment, you can make a big impact. With the efforts of ACORN Initiative and with your generosity, you can bring joy to those who deserve to smile this Christmas.
