I've raised £100000 to help keep Ad Astra up and running, for all of our students and employees after it was destroyed by fire.

Story

Over the last 8 years, Sam and Lyz Shaw have lovingly established an invaluable, alternative learning environment for young individuals who need additional support in a variety of different ways. Ad Astra’s activities include animal care, horticulture, health and fitness programs, mechanics, and construction. In addition, we provide a robust educational package covering subjects such as Maths, English, and PSHE, equipping young people with the essential tools for a successful future.

Devastatingly, our beloved Ad Astra was totally destroyed by a fire in the early hours of 5th December. Our immediate aim is to keep the business running, in the interim, at a different site, with help and support via Just Giving. Starting from scratch all over again, somewhere new, will be a very lengthy process so, whilst this happens, we aim to continue our educational and emotional support programmes, with immediate effect. We will hopefully re-start our teaching and support activities as early as next week (week commencing 11/12/2023) providing we can find a temporary location to suit our young peoples' needs. Time is of the essence as a lot of our students really do depend on their time at Ad Astra to help deal with each of their unique situations.

In the mean time, we would like to continue our work with our fantastic students, where ever that may be, as soon as possible, hopefully with the help of Just Giving.
