Story

Nearly seven years ago my Dad Tony Barker started his battle against a rare and aggressive form of lung cancer, Unfortunatly after a heroic and inspiring fight my Dad sadly passed away, leaving a hole in many people’s hearts.

Now five years on me and my friends are going to take on the Hull 10k on the 8th June in my Dads memory and try raise as much as we can for the Queens Centre.

The Queen’s Centre is located at Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham. The centre is a state of the art facility that is primarily for cancer patients from across the region. It is also home to services such as Immunology and Allergy, Rehabilitation, Haemophilia and Lymphoedema,

Going back nearly five years ago as I sat beside my Dads bed a few days before he passed away and I made him a promise,

A promise that I will continue to tell his story and the fight he put up against cancer and ensure his legend lives on,

This year I’ve assembled a team of amazing people who I’m lucky enough to call my friends, together we will tackle the Hull 10k with my Dads mentality and that was simply ‘Never Give Up’

We hope to inspire and put a smile on the faces of anyone who is fighting or fought this horrid disease and all the family’s who stand by their loved ones when fighting cancer.

Please donate anything you can to help us and the Queens Centre! ❤️
