Two 10Ks in 15 days!

Prior to this year I'd never run more than 1km outside in my life. I set myself the target of getting into running with the aim of completing a 10k race in 2017. Since January I've been training and have decided to set myself a challenge and try to raise money for Huddersfield and Ripponden Band.

I have been privileged to conduct the band since August 2015 and, in March this year, was delighted to lead the band as they won the 4th section Yorkshire Regional qualifying competition. The band have now been invited to represent Yorkshire in the National Finals at Cheltenham Racecourse in September of this year. This will be the band's first appearance at the finals since 1998 and we have all been busy fundraising to try and reach our £5000 target.

I've set myself the challenge of running 'Two 10Ks in 15 days' I will be running the Run Yorkshire Leeds 10K on Sunday 16th July as well as the Ryedale 10K on Sunday 30th July and hope to break 60 minutes for both. Just to add an extra challenge I'll be going on my own stag do in the intervening week!

Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated by both myself and the band might just keep me going on the way round!
