Story

Ollies Army is One family. Two children with Battens Disease. There is no cure to the disease and that life expectancy is between six and twelve years. The most important thing now for the family is to make every moment count. In there own words they say "We don’t bother with our old worries and we will continue to fight for our children and raise awareness of Battens Disease. Every day that we spend as a family of six is a gift and we will never take this for granted."

After reading their story, it put things into perspective for me. I have two beautiful children and I should be grateful for the time I spend with them and the experiences we will have together. As a result, I have decided to enter the Huddersfield marathon on the 2nd June 2019, with all funds raised going directly to the family and towards the wish list they have on the website.

If four-five hours of my time, a few blisters and a few weeks of intense training can give this family a memory they will treasure for the rest of their lives then it's a challenge I accept. All support is appreciated and any donation amount is much appreciated.
