I've raised £1000 to fund the lunch club at Regent Rural Primary School, Regent Village, Freetown in Sierra Leone.

On Saturday 4th May 2019 I am taking on my biggest challenge yet, the TP100. It is a 100 mile run from Richmond in London to Oxford along the River Thames.
Why? well because i’m clearly insane, but I’m also raising money for a very worthy cause as detailed below.
Any donation you can make, however small, would be so gratefully received by the pupils of Regent Rural Primary School, Regent Village, Freetown in Sierra Leone.
Thank you so much!
Adam
Three years ago a British schoolteacher revisited Sierra Leone, the country where she was born, and was struck by the lack of youthful joy and anticipation that one would expect to see in most British pupils on their way to school. Talking to their teachers, she learned that many only attended classes sporadically and there was a major problem in engaging their attention throughout the day.
With her knowledge of how schools in England have identified hunger as the root of these problems, and how so many have therefore set up free meals for those who need them, resulting in a big improvement in attendance, concentration and academic achievement, she was determined to set up a breakfast club for the local school in Regent, Freetown which has 400 pupils. Financed initially by herself and her husband, the club began to function and has since developed into a lunch club. Friends of Sierra Leone have also added their support.
Over the past three years the club has provided for pupils between the ages 3 - 11 a meal of individually wrapped soft bap with various fillings and an orange juice drink. The result was improved attendance and achievement. It has also helped with pupils’ social interaction as well as their education.
The lunch bap and orange drink is prepared at the school by parents and teachers on a voluntary basis and served on the school compound.
As you can see from these images, we have already visited Sierra Leone recently and launched the breakfast club A revolutionary but essential initiative that these children desperately need and with your help we really can change the lives of an entire generation.
