Story

My 15 year old daughter, Ella, will be travelling to Ghana in July 2019 along with a small group of classmates in order to get involved with helping their school's partner school. This will be the school's seventh trip to Ghana, the last of which provided the partner school with a new library including ICT equipment. They will help to further improvements within the partner school as well as looking beyond the school and into the local community, where they will take part in projects which address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. These could include energy or water supply projects, education, or even local farming projects.

To help raise funding for this we will be attempting to complete the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge on October the 22nd 2018. This involves a circular trek of 27 miles which takes in the 3 highest peaks in Yorkshire: Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. This is an arduous trek at the best of times but at this time of year we will be up against some tough weather conditions and, more importantly, against the clock. With the nights closing in we will need to have descended the last mountain before dusk starts to set in so there won't be much room for error!
