I have been given the fantastic opportunity by Leeds Beckett University to travel to a rural community in Fiji, volunteering with 'Think Pacific' for 4 weeks in June 2017!!
This project will visit a rural community, in which many were badly damaged in February 2016 following cyclone Winston. The project will focus on improving the education structure and experience of children in rural Fijian kindergartens and primary schools. We will also be looking to enhance the sport participation and provision in the less privileged communities, This will include taking numerous pieces of equipment and beginning to teach valuable sports lessons to the children.
There are many things I myself am wanting to gain from the project, including - improvement of my sports coaching skills, using whatever equipment I have available and boost my confidence in teaching with possible language barriers. I feel the most valuable experiences I will gain will surround immersing in the vastly different culture and seeing the community enjoying themselves.

I am looking to fund raise at least £400 for 'Think Pacific' to take sports equipment, teaching resources and gifts out to Fiji to ensure I myself and the Fijian community enjoy the project as much as possible.
