I've raised £500 to raise funds for Adam Lacy who has Leukaemia for second time. Adam is only 15. I am running the M'chester Half Marathon on 14th October.

Adam was 11yrs old and had a promising football career ahead of him, he was playing for TRFC Academy and also representing Wirral School Boys FC when he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in 2015. He began a long treatment of chemotherapy which should have finished in October this year, during this time he had to put his passion of football on hold due to the effects of the harsh treatment and he also developed problems with his knees, however, this didn’t stop Adam for long and his determination had him playing football again for Glenavon Falcons, which was managed by his Dad and he was beginning to gain his confidence and his fitness was returning. Unfortunately in May this year after a few viruses, we were given the devastating news that Adams Leukaemia had returned and he would now have to undergo another more intense regime of chemotherapy and then a bone marrow transplant. Adam has faced all of this head on and has never once complained. He is now in remission for a second time and scheduled for his transplant in the next few weeks. He will have to have his transplant in Royal Manchester Children’s hospital and will need to be in isolation and unable to have any visitors for around 6-8wks, this also includes his older brother Matthew who he will not be able to see during this time. The strain and stress this has put upon us as a family is indescribable but we stay positive and we take every day and every hurdle as it comes xxx
