I've raised £200 to support Paddy's Plea, a charity created for a local Coventry child in desperate need of a bone marrow match. Read his story below.

Paddy Igoe is an 12 year old Coventry boy who at the start of this year was diagnosed with the life threatening condition Severe Aplastic Anemia. Essentially Paddy's body no longer produces the bone marrow that makes healthy blood cells. Paddy is reliant on weekly transfusions of blood, platelets and infusions of IV antibiotics to stay alive.
Paddy was like every other 12 year old just a few months ago, a talented footballer for Alvis Juniors, the same football club which my son plays for. He had also started his new journey at Finham Park Secondary School. Now Paddy urgently needs a lifesaving bone marrow transplant.
Paddy was subsequently dealt the huge blow that he has a rare tissue type so no bone marrow match was on international register.
A match is out there though as only 2% of the UK population is on the stem cell database and therefore we urgently need to find it.
I am running the 2 Castles 10K, between Warwick Castle and Kenilworth Castle on 9th June 2019 to promote awareness, encourage people to join the register, raise funds for Paddy's Plea to support the family with the work they are doing to promote the cause, paying for publicity, promotion and event expenses.
I myself have joined the stem cell register on a recent Alvis football tour. My son plays for Alvis Juniors and as a club we must do all we can to help this deserving boy. Please donate what you can to help.
Thanks,
Adam.
