I'm raising £30000 to support Luke & SELFA, We are undertaking the Tri-National challenge, 22 miles canoeing, 30 miles walking and 127 miles cycling over 3 days!!

Life as we knew it changed on 13/12/19, when Luke was rushed to hospital after contracting meningitis. His life was saved, but all four of his limbs had to be amputated. The impact of this changed everything overnight for our family and of course most importantly for Luke. He has bravely faced challenges no-one can understand unless they’ve been there.
His tenacity, determination and sheer force of personality make us proud every day.
Luke who is now 12, will be under the hospital team until he’s 21. The NHS is incredible, but to fund beyond the basics is a huge ongoing commitment we must meet ourselves. Bionic prosthetics and adaptations which enable Luke to partake in school life, play sport and do things that we take for granted are expensive (£20,000 per arm and legs start at £75,000) and need to be replaced as Luke grows.
While we could perhaps have predicted Luke would handle whatever was thrown at him, we could never have imagined the support we’ve had from family, friends, and the community!
This year, we are canoeing the length of Loch Lomond, 22 miles, walking the Welsh 3000s, 30 miles, and cycling the length of the Leeds Liverpool canal, 127 miles. 179 miles in three days!
We also be raising money for SELFA. They help children and families in the Craven area experiencing vulnerabilities, to build resilience, thrive, and achieve.
