Story

A break up is never easy on anyone parent or child, but in the majority of cases its the father who leaves the family home. In our day an age not many people can rent a 2 bedroom property on their own at a drop of a pin. Local councils would advise that the man rent a room in shared accomodation, not only is this not an ideal enviroment for any child, i think you would struggle to find a house where the flat mates would be happy to have kids running about when they are young, single 20-somethings.

I personally have experienced this. I broke up with my sons mother, i didnt have savings and even if i did i could have never afforded a 2 bedroom flat in london, i was advised that the local authority would not help me as my son is actually housed. I would not be eligible for help from them regarding housing nor would i be eligible for any benefits that any other singke parent would get.

I have seen alot of instances where good dads are not able to spend quality time with there children due to accomodation and the child will suffer.

There is no support networks for departing Fathers. The local authories do not offer anything for dads, not in terms or housing or general support.

I feel support is manly what is need, having been forced to spend nights away from my son emotionally pushed me to the brink i can empathise with what these fathers stuck in a rut feel.

In the long term i would like to create a place where fathers can rent in a co-living enviroment with other like minded dedicated father just want to be able to spend time and be with their children, and likewise mothers can be content that their children are in a safe enviroment.
