Story
"My parents named me Homeless as I was born just as my city was razed to the ground. I am now Homeless again. People complain that we come to their countries, but if you break an ant's nest what will they do: spread out in search of somewhere safe.
All of us here in Dunkirk have had difficulties with our lives. If all you have experienced is war, war, war when there is no hope...you need to find somewhere else.
we are not safe in France, I am here with my young brothers, aged 12 and 16. we were all taken off the train at the border and detained; given no food or water and told to go back to Italy.
We sleep in a camp in a tent, We are always cold.
We just want to live our dream ;like everyone else. Get an education; have a lifefree from war.
I want to be an actor." (a testimony from a refugee , with many thanks to Care4Calais)
We are planning another trip out to Calais/Dunkirk to take a van load of of Aid to help improve (even a tiny bit) the lives of the thousands of forgotten refugees stuck in limbo across northern France, with the constant removal of what little they have by the police and authorities and closure of camps, many are left with nothing on a regular basis and have to start over again, firstly a tent then bedding, then food and a means of cooking etc etc etc! this can hap[pen on a weekly basis!
We have around 150 warm good quality duvets ready to go and are keen to collect more bedding, tents and any excess camping equipment to take out to help stocks in the Care4Calais warehouse and distribute directly ourselves, but as well as any donations of aid from you lovely people we need the funds to get the vehicle out there and buy emergency aid while there for the most in need!
