Weʼve raised £3,923 to fund The Great British Adaptive Judo Team compete in future International Judo Championships

Funded on Tuesday, 1st November 2022

    Story

The British Judo Adaptive Team is completely self funded. In order for the selected players to compete in the upcoming international competitions it can cost over £1000. The costs include - GB Kit, Food, Transport, Full Board Accommodation, Entry to Competition and transfers and flights.

We would like to make this cost more affordable to the players as its a great honour to be selected to represent your county and we don't to want funding to a barrier to stop them participating.

Any fund raising, sponsorship, or donations would very much be apricated.

We need your help! There are two competitions upcoming for Intellectual Impairment & Adaptive judoka. Virtus Global Games – this is a replication of the Olympic Games, held in Vichy, France in June 2023. Their trip will cost in the region of £1800. There is also an opportunity for our Adaptive Athletes to travel to Sweden. Their trip will cost approx £800. British Judo Adaptive Working Group are regularly trying to raise funds to help minimise costs for players, parents and carers. Please give your support, it will be greatly appreciated.

The funding already received will be used to support the athletes on their competition pathways and support them of the classification process. Thank you again for your support.

Classification is an additional cost that we have previously not had to account for. We are planning to develop a relationship with a medical professional who can carry out classifications for our current athletes for future additions. Having a professional who can carry this out for us will enable the smooth classification process and remove potential stresses for our athletes.
