Story
My brother-in-law Rob Wilding and I will be running the Manchester marathon in April and the Plymouth half marathon in May, in support of local Plymouth charity 'Give a Child a Chance'.
The charity has helped support my niece who is autistic and suffers with severe anxiety issues. She struggles to leave the house to the extent that she no longer feels able to attend school. The charity, 'Give a Child a Chance' helps children like my niece overcome their challenges to lead a more fulfilling life. It's a small Plymouth charity that is making a big difference to the lives of local children and their families.
In preparation for these events we have been busy training over the winter in all weathers so we can hit our goal times. My target time for the marathon is 3 hours 30 mins but for every minute under 4 hours I will personally donate £10. Rob's target for the marathon is 4 hours 30 mins and for every minute under 5 hours he will donate £10.
Any donations, big or small are greatly received and will make a difference to Plymouth children with mental health challenges. Thanks for the support.

4 years agoThe second half of the challenge is complete on what turned out to be a very warm sunny day in Plymouth! Massive thanks to everyone that has sponsored us and we have completely smashed our fundraising goal thanks to your donations. By the time we add in fund matching we should have close to £3000! Time now for us both to enjoy a break before more challenges later on in the year........

4 years agoLess than 2 weeks to go and the preparations are going well for us both. We've completed our longest training runs and the training is now starting to taper off. We're both feeling quietly confident and looking forward to the big day! Many thanks for all the donations so far, it's really appreciated and will make a big difference. Please share the page as much as possible to help us reach our target!
