I've raised £3000 to Help fund Pemchhiri Sherpa to gain experience for his Nepal UIAGM guides qualification by climbing in Scotland winter 2019

For over 20 years Pem has worked in the mountains of Nepal. He started as a kitchen helper and is now a Sherpa guide and Sirdar. He has assisted so many climbers and trekkers to achieve their goals and has summited Everest 14 times as a Sherpa. His commitment and professionalism to his clients is outstanding and I have personally shared many trips with Pem throughout my 18 years as an expedition leader. In 2011 Pemchhiri was badly injured on Everest whilst fixing ropes above Camp 3 and in 2014 his family home was badly damaged by the Earthquake. Pemchhiri has completed his training to achieve his UIAGM Nepal Guides qualification but still needs to gain experience climbing in a different country to finalise his qualification. This year Pem and I worked together again on Cholatse and as ever he was superb in every aspect of his work as Sirdar and Sherpa Guide. In order to help Pem gain his final qualification I have offered to host him in my home for a month during the Scottish winter season, where he will hopefully join myself and some clients on our days out and gain some personal climbing experience. In order to raise some funds for Pem's flights, insurance, equipment and costs I am setting up this page to ask all those who have benefited from Pemchhiri's support over the years or those who just wish to support a Sherpa to help him .
