    Story

The LRTT is a volunteer company specialising in the education of students in limited circumstances. The fellowship sends fully qualified teachers from around the world to 10 different countries to help train, coach and mentor other teachers to help provide a better education for the children.

The fellowship started in 2011 in Uganda with only 5 fellows but now has over 300 fellows being sent to 10 different countries.

I have always wanted to go on an adventure and to give something back for how fortunate I have been in life. The thought that I can use my professional training to help others pass on knowledge to the next generation seems like an opportunity I cannot afford to miss.

The right to a good education is a basic human right that all children across the globe should be given, but that is not the case in countries such as Uganda. Due to political conflict, a poor economy and a lack of a good education system, children are not receiving a proper education that could significantly improve their life prospects and also potentially help their country develop further.

I have been selected to go to Uganda in August to help provide the essential training needed to improve the education currently provided. I will spend a month in Uganda working with teachers in the Kanungu district and during my time there I will get to experience a very unique culture and education system.

However, in order for this to happen I need your help and support to get me there. The money that I need to raise is to support the charity "Inspiring Futures" that partner the Fellowship programme and also fund my flights and Visa.

I will be doing various fundraising events in the coming months to help raise the money needed and I will update this page regularly to keep you informed. If you would like to just donate then that would be fantastic and your donation will be going to help an extremely important initiative that I feel very passionate about!

Update time!! I have completed my 5k Everyday challenge and thank you all for the support and donations that have come in during this time. It was tough and at points felt impossible but I did it; I feel fitter and stronger and ready for the next challenge! Speaking of which, my amazing boyfriend has decided that he is going to get in on the fundraising action and complete a challenge of his own. He will be completing a 24 hour gaming marathon that will be live streamed. Check it out here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1686590281643795

OK - Here is the first fundraising event. Seeing as I will be spending 28 days in Uganda without drinking alcohol, what better way to prepare for this than by completing a dry month in February. Those who know me well will know what a challenge this will be as I do enjoy a tipple every now and again! Please donate what you can as it is all going to go to an amazing cause and if I fail then I will pay a penalty forfeit into the fund myself!!
