Story
The small village of Kilidu is located about seventy miles west of Mtwara in southern Tanzania. You can drive the first sixty-five miles but then, for most of the year, the road is so bad, you have to walk. When you arrive at the first collection of straw and mud houses children run to greet you. When you look more closely you see these children are malnourished and adults are listless. There is no fresh water supply in this village. Every drop of water is carried on women's heads in plastic buckets. they walk five miles to the nearest spring and then five hard mile back.
We have estimated and surveyed and we now know that we can drill down and deliver a sustainable water supply right into the hear of this village.
We need £20,0000 to do this.
