My daughter, Emily, will be 15 when she & 16 friends from her school head off to India for two weeks in July, as part of their World Challenge Expedition to the Uttarakhand region. Whilst in India, the group will trek in to the Himalayas to support projects in remote, rural, communities, these range from improving educational or sanitation facilities to awareness of Women's Empowerment. This is a self-funded expedition and Emily has already worked hard on various ideas to raise money. Her final activity is her participation in the 2019 Great East Swim open water event on Saturday, 22nd June, when Emily will be swimming half a mile at Alton Water, Suffolk.
