    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is the new way to raise money for a personal cause on JustGiving.

We are currently attempting to raise money towards the Php480,000.00 ($9,800.00 or £8000.00) costs of chemotherapy for our Mother, Susan Orgaya Tabungar. PLEASE read her story and consider a donation:

Our family is not rich. My Mom is already retired and my Dad is a driver operator. They live from the support that they are receiving from us, their children and sometimes they struggle to afford the every day costs of living. Last September 22, 2016 my Mom discovered a lump on her left breast. She went to see the doctor and was advised to have some tests including ultrasound, mammogram and a biopsy. The family pitched in to pay for this. When the results came back, the news was not good. The lump was found to be cancerous and doctors recommended a mastectomy as soon as possible. Again the family pitched in, this time to pay for the expensive operation & hospital stay. During the operation a tumor was found in one Mom's lymph nodes and was taken to be tested. Unfortunately it was found to be cancerous and Our mom was diagnosed as having Stage II B breast cancer. Her oncologists have recommended that she needs to have chemotherapy immediately to stop the spread of cancer. Money from our family is helping, but it only goes so far.

Our mom is a wonderful, loving person - a wife, mother of 2 children, Aileen and Adrian and proud grandmother of Nathan who she helped care for after his birth and has only been with him once since then for his christening. We are devastated that she has cancer and are doing all we can to help her. Medical information says her stage II B breast cancer can respond well to chemotherapy. However chemotherapy is a very expensive treatment. Without it, her life will be cut short. It is for this reason we are asking family, friends and more for help. A donation, however small will be very gratefully received and directly pay for the chemotherapy treatment required.

With help from the support so far & immediate family, Mama has had 2 chemotherapy sessions. After the first, she was in high spirits as she felt well, but soon she started to be unwell with the side effects of the treatment. It lasted for a few days. Just before her second session, Mama started to lose her hair which has been scary & difficult for her self esteem & she started to isolate herself. However, support and encouragement from friends & family has lifted her spirits and she is determined to go through with this difficult treatment.
