FACT has been set up as a community interest company, aiming to improve the lives of many people in the communities of England and Wales and be completely independent of any political affiliations.

It is no secret that the current economic climate has led to considerable belt tightening, particularly amongst the less well off in the UK. Indeed it is estimated that nearly 20% of people between the ages of 18-30 are now in unmanageable debt.

FACT has identified that much of this debt relates to arrears assigned to costly debt management companies and which may not in fact be legally enforceable as the assignments are in breach of consumer law.

FACT intends to make debtors aware of affordable legal advice available in order to have the majority of this debt annulled, setting these members of the community on the road to debt freedom and improved credit ratings.

FACT will assess each case within 48 hours and advise applicants whether there is a realistic chance of success and will then guide the individual through the process with the minimum of fuss.

It is anticipated that this could help a large number of people struggling with their finances, with case law already showing many successes, and provide significant improvements in customers’ standard of living.
