Story
The Dry Dock opened it's doors on the 11th April 2016 as a peer led Recovery venue in the heart of Leith Links, Edinburgh. We run workshops on Woodwork, Art and Music, and also run Yoga and Cookery Classes. We also have a herb garden and a bowling green. We offer support to the local Recovery Community through mutual aid across the whole spectrum of dependencies regardless of age, gender or religion.
Due to the the isolated location (in the middle of Leith Links Park) of our premises we have suffered ten break ins over the last nine months. This has resulted in power tools for woodworking and musical equipment amongst other items to have been stolen or vandalised, causing great upheaval to our programme and personal losses for our volunteers.
We are hoping to reach our target in order to fully secure the building with Security shutters and a CCTV system. This will allow us to restore our activities programme with renewed confidence in the integrity of the building. This in turn will encourage our volunteers and participants to maximise the use of the building.
We hope that you are able to help us in any way, large or small. All donations will be gratefully appreciated!
