On the back of the vandalism on our recently installed external Automated External Defibrillator I feel as the knowledge to the public is now out there it feels appropriate to ask people to donate something towards future AED installs in the East Belfast area. (Public places/ shops/ Parks etc)

Today the 27th of November we had our recently installed AED box vandalised by some mindless thugs, I feel that it has made people aware of the need and the great use these devices can be in the event of an emergency.

See some facts how the use of a device can save a life.

When someone has a cardiac arrest every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces their chances of survival by 7-10%.

Without immediate treatment 90-95 percent of Sudden Cardiac Arrest victims will die.

A typical AED costs around 800 pounds and external cabinets range from 500 pounds upward. So the more money raised the more boxes can be installed.
