Story
AFC Market Bosworth Football Club are going on their second fundraising Tour. In 2016 we climbed Snowdon, this year we are looking at climbing the challenging Scafell Pike in the Lake District. AFC Market Bosworth are growing in numbers all the time and currently have boys age groups between U6's - U13's and also Girls teams from U6's - U10's.
We have chosen 'Back Up' as our charity as the mother of one our members (Andrew - who coaches our current U10 boys) is tetraplegic (she has no feeling from the chest line down) and is wheelchair bound. Her injury was caused in 2011 when she was a pillion on a motorbike and was knocked off the back by a police car that was travelling on the wrong side of the road. The charity ‘Back Up’ supported her to regain as much independence as she could.
Back Up is a national charity and supports children and adults with spinal injuries. This is the link: https://www.backuptrust.org.uk/
Funds raised will be split 50/50 between 'Back Up' and the football club. In 2016 we raised £4,000. Our challenge is to raise more this year. Can you help?
