Story

On the 9th September, I will be taking part in the Great North Run, the biggest half-marathon in the world.

Any money that is kindly donated will be used to fund much needed equipment and new sensory lighting. We are aiming to create a soothing and relaxing environment using various types of sensory activities.

Based close to the centre of Leeds, our Opportunities Service provides a broad range of community-based activities for people with learning disabilities. With the new sensory lighting, we can help those who have learning difficulties interact with the world around them, but in a safe environment that helps build up their confidence and abilities.

Your donations will help fund the following: Fibre optics (wall carpet and waterfall light), UV lights, Bubble tube, Seating and bean bags , Flooring foam mats and a rug.

Any donations will be gratefully received and I hope you agree will be going to a great cause.

With just over three weeks to go now… I will, of course, keep you updated on my training progress.
