Story

Six families I am supporting have been cleared to come to the UK. We now need to pay for them to get passports and Pakistan visas. Together they cost between £1000-1500 as prices begin to spiral upwards.

Here are the stories of some of those I am supporting:

N was an Afghan National Army officer when Kabul fell to the Taliban. He was an instructor at their Officer Academy and was mentored by the British Army. Three weeks ago, he and his family (wife and three small children) had to flee to a safe house in the middle of the night after Taliban arrived on their doorstep. We need £20,000 to maintain that safe house, feed them and keep them warm during the Afghan winter until the UK authorise his visa - hopefully early in 2022.

A is a former Helmandi contractor. His wife was murdered by the Taliban and his father was beaten to the extent he lost an eye. He fled to Kabul with his children and was homeless. We’ve found him a flat and food for US$200/month. We’ll support him for as long as we can.

H was in a safe house in Kabul until a few days ago. He and his family of 6 have made it to Islamabad legally, but they now have no means of support. We need to cover his final safe house costs and help the family get on their feet in Pakistan.

Things are dire over there at the moment. 14 million Afghans are on the edge of starvation and these people no longer have jobs and are unable to work or go out in public due to immediate threat to their lives. The families are entirely reliant on our support.
