Story

Afghanistan has slipped away from the media but the crisis is escalating. It is now devastation in every way. We have been working around the clock since mid-August and have achieved so much but could achieve so much more if we just had funding.

We plan to use the funding in different ways- all supporting Afghans in need.

-WE PLAN TO SUPPORT AFGHANS WITHIN AFGHANISTAN

PEOPLE ARE SELLING THEIR CHILDREN FOR FOOD.

Inside Afghanistan people are starving, The most common issue at the moment is the price of food and the desperation of parents who are struggling to feed their children. Food prices are rocketing. Millions struggle to feed their families.

The World Food Programme (WFP) estimates 93% of Afghans are not getting enough food to eat. Before the Taliban seized control last month the number was 80%.

Markets have sprung up across the city, as people who had managed to accumulate a few trappings of prosperity in the old Afghanistan sell their possessions to raise a little cash, mostly for food, they have reached the point of selling their children.

We plan to distribute ration packs- a bag with rice, oil, sugar, pulses, etc to last a month.

For the homeless we plan on funding the street-food merchants to create make shift food stations/kitchens.

WINTER IS COMING

We plan on distributing tents and warm clothing in advance of winter, and finding doctors to host make shift street clinic. As temperatures dip below 10 degrees celcius we need to think about keeping people warm, and treating those who get ill as a result. We need to supply blankets, coats, tents to those that have migrated from the provinces.

-WE PLAN TO SUPPORT REFUGEES IN SECONDARY COUNTRIES

Afghans who have managed to get out have found themselves without money in countries such as Pakistan, Greece and Turkey. These Afghans need support to keep safe, sheltered and fed. We want to help them with their immigration process and try and settle them in safe place to rebuild their lives. They also need clothing, school supplies, medicines, food, sim cards and credit and transport.
