A welcome message from Betty and Pat

Welcome to our page to promote our new charity " OK for Africa" which stands for Old Kits for Africa. We got the idea to set up this charity when we went on holiday to Tanzania last summer. The children in our chosen village on Zanzibar Island are incredibly poor, as you can see from the picture...the ball is made of dozens of plastic bags. But the young boys and men of the village are fascinated with football...and particularly the Premier League. So what we are hoping to do is collect old football shirts from friends, family and local contacts and ship over and distribute to these boys, and to other boys like them in similar villages. This part of the charity costs nothing, but we are also fundraising to pay for storage, shipping and the purchase of some nice new items like new footballs and mini goals etc. At the same time we are mindful that this would mainly be of benefit to the boys in the area, so we are running a parallel and equal campaign to collect and ship nice pre-loved girls clothes and toys too.
