Help Transform the Lives of Vulnerable Children at Mother of Peace Orphanage in South Africa.

My name is Agata Treeby, and in April 2025, my family and I will be visiting the Mother of Peace Orphanage near Johannesburg, South Africa.

For over three decades, this incredible organisation has been a lifeline for children affected by poverty, abuse, and the HIV/AIDS crisis. They offer not only shelter but also love, education, and a sense of family to children who have endured unimaginable hardship.

**About Mother of Peace Orphanage**

Founded in 1989, Mother of Peace has grown into a safe haven for 30 children. Here, they find not only a home, but a place where they can heal, grow, and imagine a brighter future. In addition to providing shelter, the orphanage offers education through their home school, allowing the children to build skills and gain knowledge to help them succeed. But with limited resources, Mother of Peace faces ongoing challenges in maintaining and expanding its facilities to better serve these children.

**Why Your Donation Matters**

Your support can directly impact the children’s lives in tangible, meaningful ways. Here's how your donation will help:

⭐️ Improved Living Conditions: £75 will provide 5 fans for classrooms and bedrooms, essential during the hot summer months when temperatures often exceed 30°C. These fans will help keep the children comfortable and safe.

⭐️ Better Infrastructure: £200 will connect a gas geyser to the kitchen, providing hot water for cooking and cleaning, greatly improving hygiene and quality of life.

⭐️ Level the Soccer Field: Many of the children at Mother of Peace love football, and we are raising funds to level and prepare a safe, solid playing field. This field will provide not only joy and exercise but also lessons in teamwork, discipline, and resilience—skills they can carry with them for life.

⭐️ Sports Equipment: £250 will help purchase new football boots, soccer balls, and kits, allowing the children to play safely and build their confidence and teamwork.

⭐️ Roof for the Verandah: The smaller verandah is currently without a roof, and although a gazebo provides some shade, it’s not sufficient, especially when it rains. £400 will provide the materials needed to build a proper roof, creating a dry and shaded space where the children can gather and enjoy their time together. One of the young men living and working at the orphanage, who has been trained in welding and maintenance, will help build the roof, further developing his skills.

We aim to raise £2,000 to support these critical improvements. Every pound you donate will go directly toward making life better for these children—whether through providing cooler classrooms, better facilities, or the tools they need to develop confidence and hope for the future.
