Story

Meredith competed in the 2018 Royal National Mod in Dunoon (Gaelic Cultural Event), where all forms Gaelic art compete. Meredith won the gold medal for Clarsach Composition; gold medal for Advanced Junior Clarsach and silver for Clarsach Recital (she was at least four years younger than the other competitors) . She also won the gold medal for the Under 13s fiddle competition.

This remarkable achievement for a 12 year old girl got the attention of national newspapers and the BBC and she was featured on the BBC Alba TV Mod programme. She has also been invited to play at the Edinburgh International Harp Festival in April 2019.

Meredith is in receipt of highly competitive and prestigious award from the AYM (Awards for Young Musicians), which covers the cost of her music lessons.

In order to allow this remarkable Scottish talent to continue and develop she requires a specific type of harp to enhance her technique to degree level, which the family cannot afford.

Accomplished Scottish harpist Savourna Stevenson says

"Meredith finds real joy in playing the harp. She is unusually dedicated to her musical studies. At only 12 years of age, there is already a great maturity to her playing and I am confident that, given the support she deserves, she has the potential to build a career in music.
