Story
Moe, one of our oldest and dearest friends from Glasgow was sadly recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, otherwise known as MS.
MS differs in every person but at the moment its has caused Moe to have severe tremors in both hands. The tremors make the simplest tasks extremely difficult, verging on impossible. The disease has progressed to the point where it is now affecting his balance, speech and everyday life.
Sadly, there is no cure for MS and the medication prescribed by his doctors at the NHS to ease the symptoms of the illness is not working, but at this time there are major breakthroughs happening in Mexico through the medium of stem cell treatment. Moe and his family have decided this is the best opportunity for him. Stem cell treatment essentially re-starts your whole system and in the majority of cases it has amazing results. Like every treatment it has its risks - Moe will have to undergo a costly round of chemotherapy as part of his treatment, as well as the surgery to implant the stem cells.
The treatment will take 8 weeks plus recovery time once he returns home. Moe and his family are excited for this treatment to begin, however, it will cost around £60k. We have started this page to try and help Moe and the Abutoq family get closer to the a target that will hopefully see our dear friend back to health and be able to enjoy life.
We will also be playing at a benefit gig in Glasgow on the 8th of December along side Artwork and a a few of our other pals to help them raise funds to cover some of these costs. Please click on the link at the bottom of this page to purchase tickets for the show.
Moe is the is brother of our very good friend Ahmed whom some of you may have met at one of our shows or during our travels. We have known them for years and consider them family. If you can, please donate to the cause. Any amount no matter how large or small will go a long way to helping us reach our goal of getting Moe the treatment he needs.
Please also take the time to share the link to this page on your social media accounts to help us reach our goal.
