Story

Each year, I take students from JCSC to visit Krakow, Poland in July. Although students learn about the Holocaust in Year 9, reading survivor testimonies is an invaluable opportunity to further develop their knowledge and understanding of the sites they will visit.

The trip itself is very expensive and this year I thought it would be a great idea if we could give each of the students a testimony to read prior to the visit.

Unfortunately, school funding is at an all time low and there’s no money left to buy these books. This year we’re taking 36 Year 9 students - our largest group yet! I would love to surprise them with a small gift to help them understand the tragedies experienced by so many, and to lift their spirits with the inspirational nature of survivors.
