Story

On June 18th next year I will be travelling to Sub Saharan Africa as part of a team of 18 pupils and 2 teachers from Aberdeen Grammar School. We are all taking part in a World Challenge Expedition that will see us visit South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland and Mozambique over the course of our month long trip. While away we will spend much of our time trekking long distances and also volunteering in poor communities. Our volunteering will be spent in a small community in Lesotho, where we will interact with locals and delve into their culture. Our general goal will be to help the locals have a good time and enjoy our stay with them, while learning things from each other. I was selected to take part in this adventure, from a number of applicants, in January this year and have since began to fundraise towards the cost of the trip.

Although I have had a great start to fundraising, I still have a long way to go in order to make the £4000 price. The next part of my fundraising involves participating in some distance runs taking place in the area, the first of which is The Great Aberdeen Run on the 27th August. I will be running alongside my Uncle, James Milne, who I have been training with in preparation for this race and more to follow. I would really appreciate any donation towards my cause. If not for the great cause, please do it for my poor Uncle who has been busting a gut in training.
